To Grace Baptist Church of Kerwood, Ontario
History
Grace Baptist Church began in 2003 with a small group of Christians desiring to reach Strathroy and the surrounding communities with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through an assortment of meeting venues in the last twenty years, GBC has settled in rural Kerwood, Ontario. In 2013, our pastor retired from the ministry. In the following months, John Mark Charlton, one of the founding members of GBC, was unanimously called upon to fulfill the pastoral role. God had been echoing that call in John Mark’s personal life and he obediently accepted the position as an under-shepherd of the Lord’s Church.
The Holy Bible:
At GBC, we emphasize sound doctrine through study and rightly dividing the King James Bible. We worship God with Christ-honoring music. We long to provide the necessary scriptural tools to edify and admonish each member to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Regardless of our age and status, we encourage each other to allow the Holy Spirit to change our lives through obedience to His Word. If we make our love towards Jesus Christ our motive for obedience, then the Holy Spirit will develop His unity among the members in the bond of peace; all as we help, comfort, and rejoice with each other through the array of trials and victories that make up our lives.
Our desire is to help those searching for REAL answers in THE TRUTH of Scripture. This group of born-again Christians wants to encourage you to fulfill God’s perfect will for the life He gave you. What an abundant life God is willing to provide: to God be the glory!
Ministries:
We are delighted that God has blessed us with many different open doors to proclaim His Gospel. They include:
• House-to-house and public events
• Sunday School and nursery program to meet the growing needs of our little ones
• Services within nursing homes and retirement villas
• Participation in winter parades with a scripture-laden float and the opportunity to distribute thousands of gospel tracts
• Monthly financial support to our missionaries in China, St. Lucia, and Canada
• In our individual places of commerce & employment, and with friends and family
There is a place for every member of this local church body to participate in proclaiming the Good News! Fulfilling our Lord’s command to be faithful stewards of our ambassadorship is critical to our spiritual growth.
Children:
John Mark and his wife Cheryl have been blessed with eight children. Together with the brethren at GBC, they strive to emphasize the profound, scriptural reality that each families’ children are the future ambassadors, and therefore should be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Like young Timothy, they too can know the Holy Scriptures that are able to make them wise unto salvation!
The Only Salvation:
